Lookfantastic Beauty Box November unboxing

lookfantastic november beauty box what's inside

Guess what?

Lookfantastic’s new beauty box is here! I just received it and I thought it would be fun to unbox it together. I’ve actually never tried lookfantastic’s beauty boxes before, so it’s also the very first box for me.

Actually I haven’t tried that many beauty boxes anyway. But since lookfantastic* is one of my favorite stores, I was eager to see how their boxes are. Based on this box, I’m pretty impressed.

And excited! Receiving a surprise beauty box is thrilling. And nice. I think I’m starting to get the whole beauty box thing now.

Lookfantastic November Beauty Box unboxing – what’s inside?

The theme of this month was ‘Dark Wonder edition’. How suitable – talk about darkness in November. It’s been pitch black in Helsinki and I’m still getting sleepy at 3 pm. But enough about complaining about the inevitable (=winter in Finland).

Let’s see what we got.

ELLE November issue
Ah, yes! I love reading women’s magazines in English. This alone was the nicest surprise!

BUBBLE T lookfantastic Dark Wonder Bath Bomb
This bath bomb smells delicious even through the packaging. Too bad I don’t have a bath tub. But – next time we’re at a hotel or at an airbnb, I’m taking this with me. Because we always choose a room or an apartment with a bath tub.

REN Evercalm Global Protection Day Cream 15ml
I’ve tried a face cream from REN before and I loved it. It felt like a really good quality product. So I’m very happy with this. A calming cream sounds perfect right now, since the cold is starting to affect my skin. What I like about REN is that they mostly use natural ingredients and they don’t use ingredients that can possibly irritate skin or clog pores, like silicons, mineral oils or synthetic fragrances.

ELEMIS Papaya Enzyme Peel 15ml
I’m all about chemical exfoliants and I’m serious about exfoliating my skin weekly. And I love gentle products. Papaya enzyme is a good gentle exfoliant and I’ve tried products containing it before. So this should be good.

Laura Geller Baked Gelato Swirl Illuminator, Gilded Honey sample size
A beautiful gold highlighter that feels smooth on the skin. It’s quite pigmented and gold, so I think I will prefer using this as an eyeshadow. This is my favorite makeup product from this box.

Contour cosmetics lipstick, Juju
I’ve never heard of this brand, so it’s nice to try something completely new. I love the packaging! This lipstick is matte and supposed to be kiss-proof and last all day. Nowadays I’m not a huge fan of matte products, but we’ll see if I like this.

mellow Precision Pen Eyliner
A classic black eyeliner with a pen-like tip. The color was really black and intense, which I like. And the packaging is nice.

You can find all the products at www.lookfantastic.com*

That’s it for November’s box. What do you think of the contents?

I’ve now tried more than one box and I can safely say it’s one of the best beauty boxes. Read my full review here!

One box costs 19$ and if you subscribe, it’s cheaper. For example 3 month subscription is 18$ per box and 12 month subscription is 16$. Already in this box you got your money’s worth, since the lipstick alone costs over 20 $!

Who’s excited for Christmas? And more importantly – Beauty Advent Calendars? I know I am! It might seem a bit early to talk about Christmas, but when it comes to beauty calendars, you have to be prepared. And early. October is the time to order them, so you won’t be left without one.

I think beauty calendars are the ultimate Christmas present to yourself. Obviously you could just buy something for yourself, but for me, the element of surprise is important. There’s just something childishly exciting about it.

But if you do want to know what you’re buying –  you can usually always check the contents of the calendar. That way there are no disappointments. Or do both. Check the contents and buy the calendar – you still won’t remember every single product, so the element of surprise is still there.

Here are my top picks for this year’s best Beauty Advent Calendars!

Rituals The Ritual of Christmas Deluxe Calendar 89€

This is my choice for this year. I ordered it a while ago and it’s already here at home just waiting to be opened. Both me and Risto love Rituals’ products, so I just couldn’t go wrong with this one. What’s epic about this calendar is that it’s shaped like a Christmas tree and it comes with lights!

LookFantastic Beauty Advent Calendar  $115

If you’re just thinking of getting a beauty calendar, I would probably choose this. It’s a safe choice. It’s one of the most popular Advent calendars after all. It contains makeup, skincare & hair products. I had this calendar in 2016 and I was very happy with it. Read my reviews here. Take a peek at the contents here.

Sleek Makeup Can’t Wait Another Day Advent Calendar £35
Very affordable, but tempting calendar! Sleek makeup has great price-quality ratio. I especially like their eyeshadows. The calendar contains for example full eyeshadow palettes, lip products and nail polishes. Full contents are listed on the link.

essence advent calendar 2018 24,94€
A very tempting calendar, not only because of the price, but because of the contents. Essence honestly has some great makeup products! And the calendar is beautiful.

The Body Shop 24 days of Enchanted Advent Calendar $45

25 Days of the Enchanted Deluxe Advent Calendar £65

25 days of the Enchanted Ultimate Advent Calendar £99

The Body Shop came out with three different Advent Calendars, the cheapest being only £45! All of these calendars contain products for bath, body, skincare, make up, hair care as well as some accessories. If you want to see the exact content, check out the links. The contents are listed in each calendar.

Feelunique The Little Beauty Parcel Beauty Calendar $99,75
This calendar reminds me of the Look Fantastic calendar. Great option with lots of interesting brands and products. Makeup, skincare & hair.

asos The Face & Body Advent Calendar $87
Another good option with lots of variety and different brands and products. Makeup, skincare & hair.

amazon 2018 Beauty Advent Calendar £50
Amazon sells some amazing brands so it’s no wonder they have their own beauty calendar. Last year’s calendar was pretty good, so I think this a very valuable option.
