P.S. I love fall

It happens every year. I get crazy about fall. I love it’s colors, the gloomy weather, scented candles, chai lattes, the fall foliage and most of all – I love fall makeup. Red and orange hues. Dark berry lips. Gorgeous glowy skin. Messy smokey eye.

I’ve been bursting with excitement when it comes to makeup. I’ve taken all my dark lipsticks out and I’m suddenly feeling a need for more warm-toned palettes.

I felt very inspired to do a fall-inspired makeup look and here’s what I came up with. Warm eye makeup with orange shimmer on the lid, lots of black liner, burgundy lips and a full-coverage foundation with lots of highlight. Oh, and a lot of blush. I guess it feels refreshing to wear lots of makeup after wearing minimal makeup throughout the summer, haha.

Besides sharing this look I also wanted to tell you about the products I used. There are some old favorites here, some that I recently started to use again, and also a brand new product that I’m trying out.

TONY MOLY Egg Pore Silky Smooth Balm

TONYMOLY Egg Pore Silky Smooth Balm*

Pr-sample
I got this primer from the launch event that I attended last week. I think Tony Moly has the cutest packaging! This golden egg is actually surprisingly beautiful as well. I’ve only tried it a few times, but it feels nice. It has a delicious scent and it feels very smooth on my skin. The primer is silicone-based, so it’s great for smoothing out the skin and hiding pores. I used to wear these kinds of primers all the time. Nowadays I rarely wear any primer. Let’s see if this primer changes my makeup game.

KICKS Makeup Brushes*

Pr-samples
I’ve been using KICKS’ brushes for quite some time now. I think their quality and price point is great. My favorite brush from them is the highlighting brush. It’s the perfect size, it’s soft and not too dense and it makes highlighting easy.

MILANI Baked Blush, Red Vino

Milani Baked Blush, Red Vino*

I’ll admit: I mainly bought this blush, because it’s gorgeous and I wanted a deep red blush. In reality though, this is very very pigmented so you need to be careful when applying it. A fact that I forgot when I was doing this makeup look. Luckily, blush overdose is easy to fix. Just apply some powder on top of it and blend like crazy. When I’m more careful with applying this and just take the tiniest amount, it works just fine. And looks more pink than red on my skin. I love Milani’s Baked Blushes and I have another shade of it as well (a color more suitable for every day looks). The blushes are beautiful, they have good pigment, they are easy to blend and they’re affordable.

MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Soft&Gentle*

A beautiful, gorgeous highlight. It’s quite finely milled and not too glittery. I love this product. I use this all the time in my eye makeup as well.

MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Soft & Gentle Highlight & KICKS Highlighting Brush

Elizabeth Arden Lasting Impression Mascara*

A mascara, that I got from my advent calendar last year. I only opened this recently and fell in love with it. It gives a nice volume to my lashes, but doesn’t make them too heavy.

Clarins Joli Rouge Velvet, Plum*

Pr-sample
A beautiful shade for Fall. I wrote a review on these here. I find that dark lipstick shades are tricky to apply. Every single dark lipstick I own is a bit tricky. Let me know in the comments if you know a good dark lipstick, that is easy to apply evenly and smoothly.

Are you as inspired by fall and fall makeup, as me?

A Good Day

Blogging is balancing between living a normal life and creating interesting content.

In a way I want to entertain you with funny and relevant posts and make you want to come back again. But on the other hand I want to give more of myself to this blog, than someone else. I want the secret recipe to my blog being my humanity – the irreplaceable me. So do I write about my dirty socks or about the new way to apply makeup?

white t shirt

I got plenty of dirty socks. In the Summer I take up my pastel colored ankle socks and walk around proudly thinking that I’m super colorful in my otherwise black clothes. Too bad you can see all the dirt in those socks almost instantly, and I never have the patience to not check out the day’s dust catch: this is how many steps I got to pace in this life today.

If I wrote about my life in a diary-kinda-way, there would be a lot of  the same things, my every day life.
The morning starts by hitting the snooze button and curling up to my man. He always has the energy to smile and say the things, that carry me on. Sometimes I wake up bravely to make some coffee, smile at my reflection and start A Good Day. But other times I stay in bed. I keep sleeping, and there’s a chance I don’t wake up properly for the entire day. I forget to put on socks and there’s a girl staring at me in the mirror, that just wants to write poems about life – the real life behind the screen, where the dishes are left dirty in the sink and the eye lashes stay on the drawer.

I work just like anybody else, I eat lunch and I stare out the window. My lunch isn’t any prettier than the neighbor’s – not in my stomach anyway. My work isn’t better – sometimes the tasks get done with a blink of an eye and sometimes I have to chase them like fruit flies after buying organic fruits home. The workaholic in me isn’t satisfied until at the very finish line. Then it’s a relief to close my laptop and relax on a sofa. But sometimes it’s hard to leave work, when you feel like you never left your home at the first place. Every now and then I have ran out of all my powers, but I have an entry ban to the sofa in my head.

blogging

It would be nice, if everything was nice. On A Good Day I take a photo of my beautiful dinner and say cheers to my Thursday – I am Charlotta after all and there is nothing I can’t do. But other times I crash on the bed on top of the clean laundry, that are waiting to get folded. They never get folded by themselves, but sometimes, just sometimes, they seem to disappear to the closet in a perfect order – if you just have patience to fall asleep and wake up to another tomorrow.

I’ve never liked mathematics, but the probabilities to a Good Day are pretty good then.
And as to the new way to apply makeup – forget about it. Use makeup brushes and a beautyblender.
